Music Library

If you were to take a look at my music library you would see Gospel, Gospel Rap, Gospel R&B etc. It hasn't always been this way, just two years ago there was a total different style of music in my library. I had all the latest club songs, top hits and so on. I never took thought to most of the music I listened to. I sort of fell into it by popularity. I can remember going to Best Buy asking for the best seller in Rap, R&B, or Hip Hop and just buying whatever that was. Now sometimes when I got in my car and listened to the CD I would be very disappointed. There were times where I knew what I was looking for. I use to love Lil Jon and the Eastside Boyz, E40, Twista, and Lil Wayne, and so on.
Now when i first started dating my wife I had to mix my style of music up. She liked Usher, Shakira, Beyonce, and Britney Spears, etc. I have been pretty open to what I played. I had some friends who liked Greenday, Sublime, Metallica, etc, so i would play some myself. I remember listening to this type of music when I would drive through the canyons. I would even change the way I drove, instead of having my seat let way back and one hand on the wheel, I would raise the seat up some put both hands on the wheel crank the music up and get in the zone. I have always liked LOUD music, most of the time that's the only way I drive.
Being introduced to Gospel music it was way left field for me. I told myself there is no way I could get into this style of music. I didn't see myself bumping Gospel down the street in my car. What would my friends think of me? Is what i asked myself.I didn't want anyone to look at me different. I had to come to the fact that it didn't matter what people said or what they thought of me.
You can use music in so many ways. If you are in love you can listen to love music to comfort yourself when thinking of your loved one. Going through a bad break up, there is music for that. Well you get my point. I have a lifestyle where I worship the lord, and i worship him with music and praise. Once I gave this style of music a chance, I quickly feel in love with it. since I like rap I started listening to people like Lecrae, Flame, Trip Lee, Thi'sl by the way is one of my favorites. On the R&B side I listen to people like Deitrick Hadden, MaryMary, James Fortune and so on. The best part is all the music is to the glory of God.
I recently found out about Pandora radio. It is so cool, i really like how when i listen to a song and I like the song it will bring up other artist of the same style. When i first went to Pandora it asked me what type of music I wanted. I picked Gospel and fell in love with it. I really like how much i can relate to this style of music.
